Vero, your AI assistant
Vero turns what you already have — typed notes, pasted texts, screenshots, photos, voice memos — into organized custody records. You talk, snap, or paste; Vero drafts; you review and approve everything before anything is saved.
Vero is included with the Case Builder plan. On the standard plan, the Vero page shows what she does and how to upgrade — see Plans and billing.
What Vero creates
From your input, Vero drafts two kinds of records:
- Custody time — calendar entries (overnight stays or day visits), counted with exactly the same rules as manual entries.
- Evidence records — dated entries for your evidence vault (incidents, communications, and so on).
Approved drafts are saved through the same calendar and evidence systems as manual entries — a Vero-created record is indistinguishable from one you typed in yourself.
Using Vero
Open Vero AI in the navigation (or the center Vero button on mobile). It's a three-step flow: Add your notes → Review drafts → Saved.
Step 1: Tell Vero what happened
Bring whatever you have:
- Type or paste — a diary paragraph, a copied text thread, bullet points.
- Record a voice note — talk naturally for up to 3 minutes; Vero transcribes it into the text box, where you can edit before continuing. The audio itself is never stored.
- Add photos — up to 6 images at a time, under 15 MB each (screenshots of texts, photos of documents, pictures from an exchange). If a photo carries its original capture date, Vero uses it and marks the draft "Date from photo." For screenshots, add a short note about what they show, who's involved, and the date — context makes better drafts.
Not sure where to start? Templates like "Log my parenting time," "Missed visitation," "Late pickup or drop-off," "Communication issue," and "Expense to document" give you a fill-in-the-blanks starting point.
Then choose Organize my notes.
Step 2: Review the drafts
Vero shows every draft as a card, grouped into Custody time and Evidence records. On each card you can:
- Edit the title, details, and dates.
- Pick which children it applies to.
- Toggle Include to decide what gets saved, or remove a draft entirely.
Two rules protect your record's accuracy:
- Vero never guesses dates. If a date couldn't be determined from your input, the card says so — "Add a date to save this record. We couldn't find one in your notes — and we never guess dates." — and the draft cannot be saved until you set one.
- No double-counting. If a drafted stay overlaps custody time already on your calendar, Vero warns you and offers "Save only the new nights," "Already logged — skip," or saving anyway. Statistics count each day once regardless.
Vero writes in neutral, court-appropriate language and sticks to what you actually said — she doesn't add legal conclusions or invent details.
Step 3: Save
Choose Save records. You'll see a summary of what was logged — overnights, day visits, evidence entries — with shortcuts to View calendar, View evidence, or Add more.
The screenshot checker
If you've imported screenshots as evidence, Vero can run a one-time double-check that each screenshot actually matches the entry it's attached to (it's easy to attach the wrong one when saving several at once). Look for the "Check my screenshots" banner on the Evidence page. Vero flags any that appear swapped and offers one-click fixes — you approve each fix, or keep things as they are.
Vero and receipts
On the Case Builder plan, Vero also reads expense receipts: snap a photo of a receipt in the expense form and she fills in the amount, vendor, and details for your review. See Tracking expenses.
Personalizing Vero
The first time you use Vero, she asks for optional context — the other parent's first name and a brief description of your situation — so she can interpret your notes better ("dropped the kids with Jordan late again" means more when Vero knows who Jordan is). You can edit this any time in Settings → Family, under Vero context.
Your monthly allowance
Every Case Builder account includes a generous monthly AI allowance covering all Vero features. Check it in Settings → AI usage — it shows a percentage used and resets on the 1st of each month. If you use it up, Vero keeps working in economy mode: a lighter, faster model does the work (you'll see a small amber notice asking you to give the results a closer look), and a one-time reset in the same Settings tab switches you back to full quality. Manual entry always keeps working. (There's also a light per-hour limit — roughly 10 AI requests — to keep the service reliable for everyone; hitting it just means waiting a few minutes.)
What Vero does — and doesn't do — with your data
- Nothing is saved without your review. Every record passes through the review step.
- Voice audio and transcripts are never stored on our servers and never appear in logs. The transcript exists only in your input box until you choose to save a record.
- Photo location data is never stored at full precision.
- Your content is processed solely to produce your drafts. Analytics about Vero track only counts and flags — never the content of your notes, names, or transcripts.
Vero organizes factual documentation. She is not a lawyer, and her drafts are not legal advice. Only document information you lawfully have access to, and talk to your attorney about how to use your records.
