Your Dashboard and What's New

Home — your Dashboard — is the first thing you see when you sign in. It's built to answer two questions fast: how is my custody record looking? and what should I do next?

Quick actions

The welcome card at the top gives you one-tap starts for the three things you'll do most:

  • Log evidence — jumps to the Evidence vault's quick capture.
  • Log custody — opens the calendar with today's quick-log sheet, where one tap logs tonight.
  • Log expenses — opens the expense form.

On the Case Builder plan you'll also see Record with AI with Voice / Photos / Type shortcuts straight into Vero.

What appears on the Dashboard

Depending on where you are in your journey, you'll see some of these:

  • Quick start — a first-run card (before your first calendar entry) offering the best starting path for you: set up your schedule, create a record manually, or start with Vero. On the standard plan, the Vero option shows as "AI capture — included in Case Builder." Its ✕ ("Show less") doesn't make it vanish — it collapses to a small "Finish setting up" chip you can tap to bring the card back any time. (While the card loads, you'll briefly see a placeholder in its spot.)
  • Finish setting up — the setup checklist that tracks your first children, schedule, custody entry, evidence entry, and expense. It hides itself when you're done. See Getting started.
  • Holiday date prompts — if your schedule has a holiday or summer block whose dates are still "to be designated," the Dashboard asks for them as the time approaches. See Holiday and vacation blocks.
  • The schedule check-in — about once a week: "How's it going — since {date}, did the custody schedule go as planned?" One tap confirms; "Something changed — review days" takes you to the fix-it panel. See Keeping your schedule accurate.
  • Custody Overview — your year-to-date percentage, actual custody days so far, scheduled days ahead, best streak, and (if you log day visits) visits year-to-date.
  • A 12-month heatmap and your recent activity timeline.
  • On the standard plan, a Case Builder upgrade banner — it only appears once your first calendar entry exists, and never while you're on the family-setup screen.

To keep the Dashboard calm, at most two suggestion cards show at a time — anything else simply waits for a later visit. And before your first entry exists, the big stats, heatmap, and activity sections stay hidden (a page of zeros isn't a helpful welcome) — they appear as soon as you have data.

If you chose "Skip for now" instead of adding your children during setup, you still get the normal Dashboard — the setup cards simply keep the "add your children" reminder until you're ready.

The numbers here use the same engine as the Statistics page, so they always agree — see Understanding your statistics.

What's New: the updates feed

CustodyProof improves steadily, and you can always see what changed:

  • Open What's New in the navigation. A small dot on the menu item means there are updates you haven't seen yet.
  • Each update is a short card — a title, a date, and what it means for you.
  • Visiting the page marks the updates as seen.

If a help article ever seems to describe something slightly different from what's on your screen, What's New is a good first stop — the feature may have just gotten better.
