Deadlines & Reminders

Custody orders are full of deadlines that have nothing to do with any single calendar day — "designate your 30 days of summer possession in writing by April 1," "give notice of your elected weekend by April 15." Miss one and you can lose time the order gives you. The Deadlines & Reminders page keeps those dates where you'll see them.

Where reminders come from

  • From your order, automatically. When you set up your schedule from your agreement or decree, CustodyProof looks for notice deadlines and offers them as ready-made reminders under Deadlines from your order — each with the order's own sentence attached. Everything is pre-checked; untick anything you don't want before saving. Nothing is added without your say-so.
  • Added by you. On the Deadlines & Reminders page (in the sidebar), choose Add reminder — a title, the date, whether it repeats (every year, odd years, even years, or one time), and optional notes.

How they surface

  • The Deadlines & Reminders page always shows what's coming, soonest first. Overdue items are tinted so they stand out.
  • Your Dashboard shows up to the three nearest reminders once they're within about a month of their dates, each with a one-tap Done. "Not sure yet" quietly snoozes the card for a week.
  • Reminders are in-app only — we don't email you about them, so nothing lands in your inbox and there's nothing to unsubscribe from. Check the page whenever you like; the dashboard does the nudging.

Marking one done

  • A one-time reminder is checked off and moves to the completed list (viewable via "Show completed").
  • A yearly reminder rolls forward: mark this year's done and it reappears with next year's date automatically — set it once, and April 1 comes back every year on its own.

Edit or delete any reminder from the page — the pencil and trash icons on each row. Deleting asks you to confirm first.

What about the "dates to be set" emails?

Separate feature, worth knowing: when your schedule has an open possession period (dates "to be designated"), CustodyProof also sends a heads-up email as the period approaches — at most one per period per year. If you'd rather not get those, turn them off in Settings → Profile → Email preferences. The in-app prompts and this Deadlines & Reminders page are never affected by that switch.
