See your schedule in Google or Apple Calendar
You can see your custody schedule right in the calendar app you already use — Google Calendar, Apple Calendar on your iPhone, iPad or Mac, or Outlook. CustodyProof gives you a private, read-only link that your calendar app subscribes to. Whenever you add or change something in CustodyProof, your phone's calendar picks it up on its own, usually within a few hours.
It works one way only: CustodyProof is still where you log and edit everything. Your calendar app just shows a copy.
Turning it on
- Open Settings → Family and find Add to your phone's calendar. (On the Calendar page you can also tap Add to your phone's calendar — it opens the same panel.)
- Choose Create my calendar link.
- Your link appears with a Copy link button. Add it to your calendar app now (steps below).
For your privacy, the link is shown only once, right after you create it. We keep a scrambled version that can check the link but can't show it again. If you lose it, choose Get a new link — you'll get a fresh one and the old one stops working.
Adding the link to your calendar app
Google Calendar
- On a computer, open Google Calendar. In the left column, next to Other calendars, choose + and then From URL. (The panel also has a shortcut that opens this screen with your link filled in.)
- Paste your link and choose Add calendar.
- It appears in the Google Calendar app on your phone on its own. Google checks for updates every few hours, so a change can take a little while to show.
Apple Calendar (iPhone, iPad, Mac)
- On your iPhone, tap Subscribe on this device in the panel and confirm. That's it.
- Or go to Settings → Apps → Calendar → Calendar Accounts → Add Account → Other → Add Subscribed Calendar and paste your link.
- On a Mac, open Calendar and choose File → New Calendar Subscription, then paste your link.
Outlook
- In Outlook on the web, open your calendar and choose Add calendar → Subscribe from web.
- Paste your link, give it a name, and choose Import.
What shows up
- Your custody time. Overnight stays show as all-day entries called With you, covering the nights you have — a stay from Friday to Sunday shows on Friday and Saturday, the two nights, the same way CustodyProof counts it. Timed visits show at their times, like Visit 3:00–6:00 pm.
- One entry per stay, not per child. If the kids are with you together, you'll see one entry that lists them.
- Your children's names — your choice. Initials only (the default), full names, or no names at all.
- Your reminders, by title, on their dates (you can turn these off).
- Past entries going back 30 days, 90 days (the default) or 12 months, plus everything ahead.
What never shows up
- Your notes. Nothing you write in a note or an evidence entry is ever in the calendar link.
- Dates where you logged a violation, unless you turn on Show dates with a logged violation. Even then they only say Note logged — the note itself stays in CustodyProof.
- Evidence files, expenses, and reports stay in CustodyProof only.
The entries are marked as "free" time, so they won't make you look busy in a work calendar.
Keeping the link private
Anyone who has the link can see your schedule, so treat it like a password: don't post it or forward it. If you think it got out — you shared a screen, or sent it to the wrong person — choose Get a new link. The old link stops working immediately, and you add the new one to your calendar app.
To stop sharing altogether, choose Turn off. Your calendar app will stop getting updates (most apps keep showing the last copy until you remove the subscription — you can delete it from your calendar app's list of calendars).
If your subscription ends, the calendar stops showing your schedule and shows a single note instead. It picks back up when your subscription is active again — no need to re-add the link. You can still turn the link off from Settings while your plan is inactive; creating or replacing a link needs an active plan.
Troubleshooting
- A change isn't showing yet. Calendar apps decide how often they check — Google can take several hours. CustodyProof itself is always up to date.
- The calendar stopped updating. You may have made a new link or turned it off. Create a new link and add it again.
- I see my schedule twice. You may have subscribed with two links. Remove the older subscription from your calendar app.
